CMJ Traffic Bulletin: sunday 17 June Until Thursday 21 June
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures on the Central Motorway Junction over the next week for installation of Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) and repair work.
CMJ Stage 1
Ramp and link closures:
Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 June – CLOSED – overnight from 8pm until 5am the following morning for landscaping:
* Gillies Ave on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound
Monday 18 and Tuesday 19 June – CLOSED – overnight from 8pm until 5am the following morning for landscaping:
* Khyber Pass Rd off-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound
CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Sunday 17 June - CLOSED – overnight from 10pm until 5am on Monday for line marking:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) between Nelson St off-ramp and Fanshawe St on-ramp northbound
Monday 18 June – CLOSED – overnight from 10pm until 5am on Tuesday for line marking:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp northbound
Thursday 21 June – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5.30am on Friday for line marking:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) between Symonds/Port/Wellesley off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp
Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 17 June – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5am on Monday for line marking:
* Wellington St on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound
Sunday 17 and Monday 18 June – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning for line marking:
* Port to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound and Port to North (SH1) northbound
Sunday 17, Monday 18 and Thursday 21 June – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning for line marking:
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound

Tuesday 19 June – CLOSED – overnight from 8.30pm until 5am on Wednesday for line marking:
* Newton Rd on-ramp to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound
Tuesday 19 June – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5am on Wednesday for line marking:
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to St Lukes Rd off-ramp westbound
Tuesday 19 and Wednesday 20 June – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning for line marking:
* Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound links to Port and Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound
Thursday 21 June – CLOSED – overnight from 10.30pm until 5am on Friday for line marking:
* Southern Motorway (SH1) to Nelson St off-ramp citybound
During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.
Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.
In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.
