Entries Open for Prestigious North Harbour Club AIMES Awards
Unconditional cash grants are poised once again to help further the success of North Harbour's most outstanding young achievers who will be named at this year's North Harbour Club AIMES Awards on November 9.
Over the past 11 years, the North Harbour Club Charitable Trust has raised and distributed more than $650,000 – unconditionally - through the AIMES Awards to foster the brilliance and achievements of young people aged 25 years and under who are living in the North Harbour area. The recipients are talented either in the arts; information technology, innovation and science; music; education; sport; or service to the community.
Nominations for this year's Awards close on Friday, August 10 and the winners will be announced at the North Harbour Club AIMES Awards Gala Dinner at the Bruce Mason Centre, Takapuna, on Friday, November 9.
New to the judging panel for the 2007 AIMES Awards is Andrea Davies, Massey University's Regional Registrar, Albany. North Harbour Club President Peter Wall says: "Being a very high achiever in any field is far from being an easy task. It takes huge talent, commitment and passion from the young person and, more often than not, a great deal of support from their families. We are delighted to be able to help our AIMES Awards recipients overcome some of their financial hurdles so that they might reach their goals a little sooner, and we are always thrilled to hear of their subsequent national and international successes."
The North Harbour Club accepts entries from all parts of the North Harbour region, which encompasses the North Shore, Rodney and some parts of Waitakere City.
