MAXX to the Silver Ferns at Vector Arena
Netball fans heading to Vector Arena on Wednesday 18 July can leave their car at home and catch public transport to see the Silver Ferns take on Australia in the Fisher & Paykel Test, starting at 7.30pm.
The Auckland Regional Transport Authority's General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, "Spectators and entertainment complexes around the city increasingly rely on public transport for travel to and from special events like the Silver Ferns versus Australia game, the first sporting event at Vector Arena.
"We are constantly refining our services for such events as well as for day-to-day travel on Auckland's developing passenger transport network."
A great way to get to the netball is taking The Link bus, which stops on Beach Road close to Vector Arena. Passengers can catch The Link from various locations around the CBD, Parnell, Newmarket, Karangahape Road and Ponsonby. The cash fare is $1.60 one way.
Vector Arena is approximately 10 minutes' walk from Britomart Transport Centre. A regular timetable will be operating for all buses, trains and ferries travelling to Britomart, and normal fares will apply.
"We advise fans to allow plenty of time to get to the arena in time for the game," says Mr Lambert.
Additional train services will depart Britomart after the game finishes at 9.00pm. On the Western Line, a train will depart for Waitakere at 10.15pm. On the Southern and Eastern Lines, a train will depart for Otahuhu (via Newmarket) at 10.10pm and for Papakura (via Glen Innes) at 10.20pm.
