Temporary CBD bus stop for some services
Joint Media Release:
Auckland Regional Transport
Authority and Auckland City Council
19 July 2007
Temporary CBD bus stop for some Manukau Road services
and 31 Flyer
The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) and Auckland City Council advise that from Sunday 22 July the CBD bus stop for some Manukau Road services and the 31 Flyer is temporarily relocating, to allow the Queen Street upgrade to progress to the corner of Queen and Victoria Streets.
Work at the intersection of Victoria Street, to widen the footpaths, replace existing paving and kerbs, and install multi-function poles, has already begun. To complete this work quickly and efficiently the bus stop on Victoria Street East, which is used by Manukau Road services and the 31 Flyer, needs to be temporarily relocated.
From Sunday, Manukau Road service routes 302, 304, 305, 305X, 312, 315 and the 31 Flyer will no longer pick up and drop off passengers on Victoria Street East. These services will use a temporary stop on Wellesley Street East (outside the ASB) until further notice.
Bus departure times will remain the same.
There will be no changes to Te Papapa service 392, which will continue to depart from bus stop M6 on Victoria Street East.
ARTA and the Auckland City Council are working closely with bus operators to coordinate the relocation to minimise disruption to passengers. The support and understanding of passengers while the work is being undertaken on Queen Street is greatly appreciated.
MAXX ambassadors will be on site to direct and advise passengers about the new temporary stop.
Passengers planning to use the Manukau Road services or the 31 Flyer can get more information about timetables and the new temporary bus stop from MAXX on (09) 366 6400 or at www.maxx.co.nz
