Aucklanders for Aucklanders
Winter has hit hard with the recent storms and the Auckland City Mission is facing increasing requests for help from those in need in our community.
“This winter is particularly harsh,” says Auckland City Missioner Diane Robertson. “We’ve been inundated with requests for beds, bedding and warm clothing.
“Families who don’t normally need our services have been forced to ask for help as the cost of winter escalates. For the Mission to provide assistance now and in the coming months, we need your help,” she says.
“Please donate to the Mission’s Winter Appeal.”
You can contribute to the Winter Appeal by making a donation – or by bidding for one of the many fundraising auctions with celebrities and other Aucklanders offering a wide range of experiences and services on Trade Me. The auctions are listed on www.trademe.co.nz/acm.
The last of the Winter Appeal Trade Me auctions close on July 30, with the Winter Appeal finishing in mid-August. Money raised will go towards food, clothing and other services for the city’s most marginalised families and individuals.
To make a donation to the Auckland City Mission’s Winter Appeal phone 379 2395; donate online at www.aucklandcitymission.org.nz; or post it to Auckland City Mission, PO Box 5352, Wellesley Street, Auckland.
Food, clothing or bedding can be collected by phoning 377 4322, or dropped off at the Mission, 140 Hobson St, Auckland City.
