Wellington seniors are invited to a free morning tea at the Museum of Wellington, City & Sea for the launch of the annual Seniors Card Discount Guide.
Admission to the Museum is free and Seniors Card has organised regular free museum tours, give-aways and morning tea.
Launched in 2004, New Zealand Seniors Card is an innovative shopping and travel programme, designed exclusively for people over 55. The programme now boasts over 35,000 members and 4,000 discounts on travel, shopping, dining out, pharmacies and much more.
Chris Herron, Director of Seniors Card, said the programme recognises the vital role that seniors play in the national economy.
“The programme recognises the massive spending power and influence of seniors and gives them the long-awaited opportunity to exert their buying power.
“Leading national chains, including OPSM, Resene ColorShops, VTNZ, Brumby’s and Mister MINIT have already recognised the value of joining Seniors Card,” Mr Herron said.
“Combined with hundreds of individually owned businesses throughout the country, and businesses across Asia Pacific, the UK and USA, seniors now have the opportunity to save money on a huge variety of goods and services.”
Mr Herron said New Zealand Seniors Card has been warmly embraced by New Zealand seniors and business alike.
“In Wellington alone Seniors Card members can save at over 100 businesses including Ford, Plumbing World, The Athletes Foot, Kodak and Wholly Bagels.”
Seniors wishing to purchase a New Zealand Seniors Card can do so at the launch for just $29 for a two year subscription.
