MAXX trains and
buses to take rugby fans to Air New Zealand Cup
Rugby fans can avoid parking hassles and catch the bus or train to Eden Park to see Auckland take on Counties Manukau in the Air New Zealand Cup, kicking off at 5.30pm this Saturday.
The Auckland Regional Transport Authority's General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, “A great way to get to the game is to take a train to Kingsland train station, which is just five minutes’ walk from Eden Park.”
Additional train services will be operating on the Southern and Eastern Lines to and from Kingsland station. Normal Saturday services, including bus replacement services between Waitakere and Henderson, will operate on the Western Line. Bus replacements remain in place to support continuing work on the development of Auckland’s rail network.
“Due to the commencement of the Newmarket station redevelopment, passengers are also advised that some delays/disruptions may occur through Newmarket station, requiring passengers to change trains. Please allow plenty of time for your arrival at Eden Park,” Mr Lambert says.
Regular bus routes 23- and 24- run from Victoria Street East approximately every 15 minutes to Sandringham Road by Eden Park.
Dominion Road services (routes 25- and 26-) run approximately every 10 minutes from the St James stop on Queen Street.
Normal bus and train fares from all stations apply.
“We would advise passengers to check bus and train timetables carefully before travelling and ensure they allow plenty of time to plan their journeys,” Mr Lambert says.
