Revised train timetable this Sunday

ARTA Media Release

Revised train timetable this Sunday as Newmarket upgrade begins

The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) advises that a revised timetable will be operating for all stations on the Southern and Western Lines on Sunday 29 July to allow for the commencement of the Newmarket station redevelopments. The Newmarket redevelopment is part of Project DART, ONTRACK’s $600 million upgrade of the Auckland rail network.

ARTA's General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, “We understand that this may cause disruptions to passengers, but the work is an important component of the overall upgrade across the Auckland rail network.”

On Sunday, bus replacements will be operating between Boston Rd and Britomart on the Western Line, and between Remuera and Britomart on the Southern Line.

Where buses replace trains, normal train fares will apply for the entire journey. Passengers should look out for the RAIL BUS sign at affected stations.

Passengers travelling to/from Penrose, Ellerslie, Greenlane, Remuera and Newmarket stations on the Southern Line will also need to change trains at Otahuhu.

While the normal timetable will be operating on Saturday 28 July, passengers travelling from Britomart and Newmarket may also experience some delays and be required to transfer trains.

"As regular journey times may vary this weekend, passengers are advised to check timetables and allow more time for their journey. The support and understanding of passengers is greatly appreciated," Mr Lambert says.

Passengers can get more information about the revised timetable and Southern and Western Line rail services from MAXX on (09) 366 6400 or at www.maxx.co.nz
