ARTA Media Release

9 August 2007

MAXX buses and trains hassle-free way to Air NZ Cup

Rugby lovers can avoid parking hassles and take the bus or train to Eden Park for the Air NZ Cup clash between Auckland and Waikato, kicking off at 5.30pm this Saturday.

An additional Southern Line train service will take passengers from Otahuhu to Kingsland station (via Britomart), which is just five minutes’ walk from Eden Park. After the game, an additional train service will depart from Kingsland to take passengers back to Otahuhu, via Britomart and Glen Innes. Normal Saturday train services will operate on the rest of the Western Line, including bus replacements between Waitakere and Henderson.

Southern Line passengers should note that a revised train timetable will be operating this weekend for all stations between Papakura and Otahuhu, including bus replacements between Homai and Otahuhu.

Regular bus routes 23- and 24- run from Victoria Street East approximately every 15 minutes to Sandringham Road by Eden Park.

Dominion Road services (routes 25- and 26-) leave approximately every 10 minutes from the St James stop on Queen Street.

Normal bus and train fares from all stations apply.

Passengers are advised to check bus and train timetables carefully before travelling and ensure they allow plenty of time to plan their journeys.
