Guerin to move on
Kapiti Coast District Council’s Sustainable Development Manager Andrew Guerin is to leave the Council to join a consultancy practice, MWH.
“Andrew has learned and earned his stripes in the planning and development area working with the Kapiti Coast District Council,” Chief Executive Leigh Halstead said today, “and we will be sorry to lose him.
“He is one of the longest serving district planners in local government, he joined the Council in August 1988, and his work and input to the Kapiti Coast’s district plan and our sustainable development focus is widely admired.
“As Group Manager Planning & Services Andrew will apply the good work undertaken in Kapiti Coast to many other localities in New Zealand.
“Over the six months I have been here I have been very impressed with Andrew’s grasp of the Resource Management Act and the detail of planning and development and I am very aware that our loss will definitely be MWH’s gain.
“From what he has told me of his new position, it is a major step in his career development and we wish him all the best for the future.
“In the small world of planners I am sure we will continue to have contact and to work with Andrew on projects in the future,” Mr Halstead said.
Mr Guerin leaves the Council on 12 October 2007.
