Get Down And Celebrate With Youthtown Alive at 75

Youthtown is turning 75 and is throwing a massive four-day party to celebrate. Being an important part of Auckland’s history - as a haven for youth to develop social, creative and physical skills - it has a lot to celebrate.

Alive at 75 will have something for everyone - concerts, showcases, exhibitions and displays to name a few.

The highlight of the festival is the Open Day Saturday 8th December:

The open day will be launched with the Alive at 75 Family Concert from 10.30am to 11.30am with a high-energy performance from Spacifix.
Tickets are only available through competitions on Classic Hits 97.4FM.

From 10.30am to 5pm all areas of Youthtown will be open to the public and packed with something for everyone. A free, family friendly affair you can see and experience all that is Youthtown.
• On stage - the main stage will host a variety of school exhibitions throughout the day, ranging from bands and karate displays to ballet dancing, body art, salsa dancing and cultural performances
• In the car park - a graffiti art show by the Disruptiv crew
• In the pool - a free diving exhibition by World Champion Dave Mullins and aqua runs
• In the Expo Zone - A Youthtown partners expo featuring among others, Tree Adventures, NZ Police, Spirit of Adventure, Outward Bound and Converse

Free entry, open to the public from 12:00PM.

Other events that make up the four-day birthday celebration include:

Sunday 9th December
Winding down the festival the focus will be on basketball and cheerleading. A street ball competition and coaching workshops will be available to the public. While open-to-public tryouts for the Youthtown Stars basketball team will release any untapped talent.

Take the chance to have a glimpse at the wonderful modern resources and 21st Century facilities Auckland youth are provided with at Youthtown. The activities that have occurred daily throughout the past 75 years will be highlighted to the public over the four days.
