Over $6 million savings through new HR system
Auckland City Council will stand to gain hard savings and other benefits worth $6.6 million over the next five years from a $3.67 million investment in a new human resources management system approved by the council’s Finance and Strategy Committee today.
The new system will provide timely and meaningful information to enable the council to make sound business decisions and plan effectively.
Councillor Aaron Bhatnagar, deputy chairperson of the Finance and Strategy Committee, says that this is part of a wider effort to seek operational efficiencies.
“The council is seeking efficiencies and savings. This new system will enable staff to perform as well as we expect them to. It will reduce costs through more effective management of payroll systems and will help reduce the time spent on administrative processes.”
“This system has the important added benefit of being the most likely preferred system for other councils in the region which will ensure future compatibility and savings in light of the Royal Commission on Auckland governance.”
