Special public holiday timetables over Easter

The Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) is encouraging Aucklanders to check out the special public transport holiday timetables before Easter, and plan their journeys carefully between Friday 21 March and Monday 24 March 2008.

ARTA's General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, "Over the quieter Easter weekend there will be changes to normal public transport services. Aucklanders planning to travel by bus, train or ferry should check out the special holiday timetables. Passengers can plan their journeys by visiting www.maxx.co.nz or by calling MAXX on 366 6400.”

Easter timetables from Friday 21 March to Monday 24 March 2008

Buses (all bus operators):

·                     Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday: Sunday/public holiday timetable.

·                     Easter Saturday: Saturday timetable. Please note that a number of special bus services will be in place for the Blues game at Eden Park.

·                     NiteRider buses will not operate on Good Friday. They will operate on Saturday 22 March.                                                                      

Trains:

·                     Good Friday: No train services

·                     Easter Saturday: Saturday timetable with the usual Saturday bus replacements between Henderson and Waitakere. Additional train services will be operating on all three lines for the Blues game at Eden Park.

·                     Easter Sunday: Normal Sunday timetable on all lines. Additional train services will be operating on the Southern Line for the Warriors game at Mt Smart Stadium.

·                     Easter Monday:

o        Western Line: Saturday timetable (no services after 9pm) with bus replacements between Henderson and Waitakere.

o        Eastern/Southern Line: Sunday/public holiday timetable

Ferries:

Bayswater, Birkenhead, Northcote Point, Half Moon Bay (to/from Auckland)

·                     Saturday/Sunday/public holiday timetable over Easter.

Devonport (to/from Auckland)

·                     Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday: Sunday/Public holiday timetable.

·                     Easter Saturday: Normal Saturday timetable.

Stanley Bay, Gulf Harbour, West Harbour, Pine Harbour (to/from Auckland)

·                     No services over Easter.

Pine Harbour (to Waiheke Island and Rakino)

·                     Thursday 20 March: Additional sailing (departing Pine Harbour at 7pm, departing Waiheke at 7.30pm, departing Rakino at 7.50pm, departing Waiheke at 8.10pm)

·                     Good Friday: No services.

·                     Easter Saturday: Normal Saturday timetable.

·                     Easter Sunday: Normal Sunday/public holiday timetable.

·                     Easter Monday: Additional sailing (departing Pine Harbour at 4.30pm, departing Waiheke at 5pm, departing Rakino at 5.20pm, departing Waiheke at 5.40pm)

Waiheke Island (to/from Auckland)

·                     Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday: Sunday/Public holiday timetable.

·                     Easter Saturday: Normal Saturday timetable.
