Show us your Super 14 ticket and catch the bus or train for free
On Saturday 22 March, rugby supporters who pre-purchase their Super 14 game ticket or present their Eden Park membership card can catch selected buses and trains to Eden Park for free.
Auckland Regional Transport Authority General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says,
“To ride for free on selected bus and train services to Eden Park, Super 14 fans simply have to show their Eden Park membership card or their pre-purchased ticket for the Blues versus Stormers game on Saturday 22 March. Eden Park membership includes ASB Club Lounge members and Eden Park Ground members.”
Free train travel to the game is available from all stations and on all train services operating on Saturday 22 March 2008 from 2.30pm until 10.30pm.
Additional train services will be operating on all three lines to and from Kingsland train station, which is just five minutes' walk from Eden Park. Western Line passengers are reminded that the usual Saturday bus replacements between Henderson and Waitakere will be in place.
Free bus travel is available on special bus services from Midtown, Albany Park and Ride (via all Northern Busway stations) and Takapuna station.
“Please remember to show us your ticket or membership card, otherwise normal train fares and special bus fares – $2.00 each way for the Midtown shuttle bus and $5.00 each way for North Shore buses – apply. Don’t forget to retain your ticket for the trip home,” Mr Lambert says.
Blues fans can also catch several regular bus services to Eden Park, but free travel is not available on these buses. A regular Saturday timetable will be operating for all buses travelling to Eden Park and normal bus fares will apply.
