Leave your car behind on World Environment Day
Be rewarded for taking public transport this Thursday, 5 June and make sustainability part of your life.
Catch a bus, train or ferry from or to one of the following key transport hubs and receive a free cloth bag or energy efficient light bulb at: * the Britomart transport centre * the Downtown ferry building * the Henderson transport interchange * the Albany bus station * the Papakura train station * the Manurewa interchange.
Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) is also offering a year's free public transport. Visit www.maxx.co.nz for information on how to get in the draw.
Also on World Environment Day: * adults who walk, cycle or travel to Auckland Zoo by public transport will get in for half price * Timberland Footwear and Clothing, Point Chevalier Primary and Oscar Kightley of bro'Town fame, will plant over 1000 native trees at Meola Reef Reserve * children across Auckland will cut their carbon emissions by taking walking school buses * Classic Hits free LINK bus will be circulating around central Auckland between 7:30am and 9:30am on the morning of World Environment Day.
