Global Phenominon To Hit
Hamilton
Wintec’s Centre for Creative Industries has secured a global phenomenon for the city, with the rights to host Pecha Kucha Nights Hamilton.
Hamilton’s inaugural Pecha Kucha will be taking place from 7.30pm, Thursday 7 August in the Wintec Hub.
Pecha Kucha - which originated in Tokyo - is a unique, rapid-fire format in which each speaker shows 20 images, each for 20 seconds.
With each presentation lasting just 6 minutes and 40 seconds, the audience experiences an exhilarating variety of ideas and projects.
The first of these events will form part of Wintec’s 10th anniversary Spark festival of the creative industries and will feature some of New Zealand’s finest creative talents.
Pecha Kucha has been replicated in more than 120 cities, including London, San Francisco, Seattle, Rotterdam, Shanghai and Berlin. Events are usually limited to one a month per city, with a minimum of four events per city each year. Pecha Kucha is for content and not for profit.
The second Hamilton Pecha Kucha will take place on Thursday 6 November (venue to be confirmed.) Pecha Kucha Nights Hamilton will be held at least once every 3 months (we can increase the number of event based on demand.)
New
Zealand Trade and Enterprise will host a pre-event
networking function at Wintec for their industry
representatives prior to the inaugural  Pecha Kucha night
in Hamilton.
Doors open 7.30pm. Presentations  begin
from 8.20pm with a $7 entry fee with door sales only.
There are limited
