New Auckland-based drug and alcoholic rehabilitation clinic to open this month
A
rehabilitation clinic for personal trauma, eating disorders,
drug and alcohol problems will open in Auckland later this
month.
The Serenity Clinic will be run by a former drug addict, called Murdoch.
Our first client is booked in on August 29 and we are taking clients from August 25. We want our numbers to grow slowly rather than being booked out.’’
`This clinic will be a great addition to the New Zealand health service. There is a significant problem with alcohol and drug addiction in this country. Mental health is a big problem in New Zealand and Serenity will make a difference.’’
He said the clinic based in a number of properties in West Auckland would replace fear and hopelessness with recovery skills that will help people break their reliance on drugs and alcohol.
``We promise to re-admit clients for free if they have a relapse during the first 12 months and if they have followed suggested recovery path. We have employed outstanding staff to make this work for people in need.’’
It also plans to offer two scholarships for people with financial difficulties.
