Call for Environmental Awards' entries
If you or an organisation you're involved with has achieved some excellent environmental outcomes during the past year, then why not enter Environment Bay of Plenty's annual Environmental Awards.
The awards, which open for entries and nominations on Wednesday 1 October 2008, recognise individuals and organisations working for a better environment in the Bay of Plenty.
Prizes of up to $1000 are awarded in five categories: community groups; educational organisations; individuals; businesses; and the media. Entries close on Friday 31 October 2008 with judging in November and a prize-giving ceremony in December.

Plenty Acting Chief Executive Brian Trott said the awards
were an excellent opportunity to recognise people,
businesses, organisations and community groups for the
fantastic work they did. "So many people are really
committed to the protection and restoration of our
environment and of spreading the word for others to become
involved," Mr Trott said. "The work these people do is
often voluntary, but it goes a long way towards helping us
and improving our region's environment." ENDS
