Manukau City Council chief executive accepts directorship
The chief executive officer of the Manukau City Council, Mr Leigh Auton, has been appointed a director of Ngapuhi Asset Holding Company Limited (NAHC).
A commercial organisation, NAHC is charged with the responsibility of growing the asset base of Te Runanga A Iwi O Ngapuhi. The Runanga is a well known Northland-based iwi organisation serving over 120,000 Maori who affiliate to the Ngapuhi iwi.
Mr John Goulter, DCNZM, JP, Chairman of NAHC said the Runanga Trustees and other Directors of NAHC were thrilled to have Leigh join as a director. They noted the value of his extensive skills and especially his connection to Manukau City where some 30,000 Ngapuhi reside.
Mr Auton has Ngapuhi whakapapa and was raised at Mangamuka Bridge in the Hokianga. He attended Okaihau District High School and Northland College in Kaikohe.
“I am delighted and honoured to have been approached to become a director of Ngapuhi Asset Holding Company” Mr Auton says.
“I will discharge my responsibilities as a director to the best of my abilities, whilst continuing my dedication to the role as chief executive officer at Manukau.”
