Northland Youth Theatre celebrates Halloween
The students of Northland Youth Theatre are celebrating Halloween with the Terrifying Tours to be held in the Old Library & Community Arts Centre on Rust Avenue this Friday 31st October & 1st November.
Northland Youth Theatre has been running the Terrifying Tours for over 5 years now & is one of the main fundraising events for the Charitable Trust.
The
Northland Youth Theatre students have been preparing for
their spooky performances for the past few weeks & it’s a
great opportunity for those who have had little to no acting
experience to be thrown in the deep end by having to
improvise to a rather responsive audience. An added
attraction of these tours are the tour ‘scarers’. A
scarer is someone who intends to scare the living pants off
everyone on tour by jumping out at them at appropriate
moments dressed as ghosts, ghouls and other creatures of the
supernatural.
‘The Terrifying Tours offer a safe
alternative to traditional ‘trick or treating’ & Friday
night’s tours will be suitable for little ones, 5 years &
up. For Saturday’s tours, we’re going all out, &
recommend an older audience of 14 years or older. All tours
will be led by a 'deceased' guide with a flair for the
dramatic. The storytelling on the second night will focus
more on the darker side of spirits and supernatural,
bringing to life before your eyes the stories that make the
Old Library haunted. A fright or two is most definitely
guaranteed along the way’.says Northland Youth Theatre
trustee, Alex Hannam.
We encourage guests to dress up as their own spooky character & get into the spirit of Halloween. Spot prizes will be rewarded to those who are the best dressed in their tour group.
A sausage sizzle & Halloween themed baking & sweets will be on sale on the two nights & Family & single bookings can be made by calling 438 4453
