Free Sunday buses in Rotorua in December

If you’ve haven’t caught the bus in a month of Sundays then give buses a go any Sunday in December and travel around Rotorua free.

Free Sunday travel is available on all 10 City Ride routes around Rotorua on Sunday 7, 14, 21and 28 December 2008.

Rotorua District Council and Reesby Buses are funding the initiative in partnership with Environment Bay of Plenty.

Environment Bay of Plenty Transport Committee Chairman Andrew von Dadelszen urged people to use the free Sunday services.

“For the four Sundays in December, people can travel with their families for free and take advantage of the offer to do their Christmas shopping in Rotorua or visit relatives” Mr von Dadelszen said.

Rotorua Mayor Kevin Winters said he was delighted that Council would be involved in such a positive initiative in the lead up to Christmas.

"It's a great opportunity for Rotorua residents to enjoy our fantastic bus network and to save on using their cars," Mayor Winters said.

Environment Bay of Plenty funds the region’s bus services.
