Manurewa Safety Day

Media Release
19 February 2009

Manurewa Safety Day

Safety Day makes a welcome return to Manurewa Library on Saturday, 28 February. Aimed at safety education for children, the event is a joint initiative of the library, New Zealand Fire Service, New Zealand Police, WaterSafe Auckland, DSS Animal Management, St John and Civil Defence Manukau.

Bring the kids along to enjoy police car rides or let them explore the police paddy wagon.  Watch a fire safety demonstration on the Fire Service’s kitchen trailer. Check out St John CPR demonstrations, or try your luck at the various competitions including WaterSafe’s fishing competition and DSS Animal Management’s guess the dog.  Civil Defence Manukau will also be there to raise awareness of what to do in an emergency and there’s a free bouncy castle

For anyone looking for some ‘better work stories’ the police recruitment team will be on hand during the day.
