Black Caps versus
India at Eden Park – show us your game ticket and ride the
train for free
Cricket fans who have pre-purchased their tickets for the Black Caps versus India one-day international, and Eden Park card members, will be able to ride for free from all train stations to Kingsland station, which is just five minutes' walk from Eden Park.
Auckland Regional Transport Authority (ARTA) General Manager, Customer Services, Mark Lambert says, “Aucklanders heading to the cricket this Saturday 14 March can ride the train for free by simply showing their Eden Park members card or pre-purchased game ticket. If you do not show your ticket or membership card normal train fares apply. Please remember to retain your ticket for the trip home.”
Additional train services will be in operation on all lines before and after the game. Free train travel is valid on all lines and applies for travel on Saturday 14 March 2009 between 11am and 2pm, and following the end of the game until the close of service.
In addition to train services, several regular bus services will take cricket fans to Eden Park. Free travel is not available on these buses. Normal bus fares from all stops apply.
Regular Dominion Road services (routes 25- and 26-) run approximately every 10 minutes from the St James stop on Queen Street.
Regular bus routes 23- and 24- run approximately every 15 minutes from Victoria Street East in the CBD to Sandringham Road by Eden Park.
Regular New North Rd services (routes 21- and 22-) run approximately every 15 minutes from Victoria Street West to Kingsland shops, a short walk to Eden Park.
Passengers are advised to leave plenty of time for their journey.
