Downtown Community Ministry needs your books

21 May 2009

Downtown Community Ministry needs your books for Wellington’s big annual Book Fair.

The Book Fair is held in September at the TSB Arena has a staggering number of books, DVDs, Vinyl records and CDs that are donated each year and then sold to people to reuse and enjoy.

Coordinator David Cross says, “It’s a fantastic way of redistributing unused items to people who want them and it raises incredible funding for DCM’s work in the city”.

But first Downtown Community Ministry needs to collect the thousands of books and other items needed for the fair.

Wheelibins will be placed at churches and community centres throughout the city for people to drop off their books. For a list of these locations please see www.dcm.org.nz

“Many people decide to hold a collection for us in their workplace. We encourage people to spread the news wherever they can that Downtown Community Ministry needs your books.

“If it’s not possible to make it to a wheelibin a pick up can be arranged online at www.dcm.org.nz or by giving us a call on 384 7699.
