Which “incredible” chickens will rule the roost?

Everyone is going crazy over the new Pringles Oven Roasted Chicken flavour – but are they crazy enough to don a chicken costume and compete for $20,000?

Pringles and The Edge FM are putting up the cash if contestants are willing to put up their time and, quite possibly, their inhibitions with The Incredible Pringles Chicken Race from June 17th.

This is a fantastic media opportunity for local press to capture snapshots as the chickens cause havoc throughout New Zealand.

Five teams of two will battle it out to win a share of $20,000 – starting in Queenstown and racing to reach the finish line in Auckland nine days later, passing through various towns and cities along the way. However, it’s not as straightforward as a simple ‘road trip’.

The participants will have to take part in a number of set challenges each day in the various locations, complete tasks such as “Flying Solo” (a task only one person can complete), “Intersections” (a choice between two tasks; one physical, one generally mental) and “Freezes” (where teams can choose to give their fellow competitors a time penalty or not).

From Bluff to Gore, Dunedin to Omaru, Christchurch to Kaikoura, New Plymouth to Taupo and right around the country, tasks may involve a simple hide and seek, a scavenger hunt or extreme sport.

What organizers have said though, despite keeping their cards close to their chest, the final task at the end will scar and potentially end the race for some if they become ‘chicken’.
