Tourism Front-Liners Head To Lake Wanaka

LAKE WANAKA (20 July) – Over 100 delegates from i-SITEs throughout the country will convene on Lake Wanaka for the annual i-SITE conference in September, with all regional centres sending at least one representative.

This is the first time in over ten years a town in the Southern Lakes region has hosted the i-SITE conference, which alternates hosting towns between the North and South Island.

The conference is a prime opportunity for the Wanaka region to promote and educate key frontline sales staff about activities and products, offering first-hand experience to nationwide personnel who advise travellers on a daily basis.

James Helmore, general manager of Lake Wanaka Tourism is delighted so many delegates have signed up to attend, “This is a great opportunity for local tourism operators to showcase their products and Lake Wanaka to i-SITE staff across the country, to offer them personal experiences they can relay to travellers heading to Lake Wanaka," he said.

As well as an extensive conference programme delegates are offered a comprehensive line-up of familiarisation trips in Wanaka and across the region. From scenic flights to carving up the ski slopes, pleasant back country horse trips to relaxing lake cruises or wine tours through the renowned Central Otago vineyards.

The i-SITE conference, runs from 13-15 September, is hosted by i-SITE New Zealand and Lake Wanaka Tourism with Edgewater Resort and Lake Wanaka Hotel the host venues for delegates. The conference will be staged in the Lake Wanaka Centre. For more information see www.i-siteconference.co.nz
