DCM needs your old computers
DCM needs your old (but functional, thanks) computers
23rd July 2009
Downtown Community Ministry
are currently seeking donations of working computers and
laptops for study and research purposes for some service
users.
One person who has been compiling a thesis on the causes of war and the impact on various cultural groups is finding it hard to use his current computer as it is very old and unreliable.
“This person is hugely concerned about global issues and would benefit greatly from having a computer that would make it easier to both access and store the information he is compiling,” says DCM Senior Social Worker Dougal Speir.
DCM also needs telephones, video players and DVD players. Home phones are a necessity for people on the Invalid’s Benefit who need to be contacted and contact others.
“These items will be put to good use. The people we work with find it difficult to afford these sorts of things due to financial restraints and are always extremely appreciative if they can access them.”
If you would like to donate a PC, laptop, video player, DVD player or telephone, please contact Downtown Community Ministry.
