Appeal in a Heel!

Appeal in a Heel!

We all know people who work in hospitality are pretty quick on their feet…so we thought we’d slow them down a bit in aid of the Telethon.

Yes, it’s the Sale St ‘High Heel-A-Thon’!

This Sunday (Aug. 02) at 1pm, Sale St in Auckland City will reverberate to the clicking of high heels as the “hospos” compete in a 50 metre dash from corner of Vernon St to the nearest watering hole, namely Sale St – wearing heels.

And in keeping with the choice of footwear and the industry, naturally there are races for men’s, women’s and drag queens’ teams.

As of today, 17 teams of one to four people from the hospitality industry have coughed up $250 per team with every cent going towards Kids Can, Telethon’s “Big Night In” charity for 2009.

Whether they’re pumps, stilettos, Jimmy Choos, or Manolos, any high heels are eligible to race.

If you “accidently” forget your heels however Number 1 Shoe Warehouse will be on hand supplying shoes for hire to the runners.

So why not mosey on down to Sale St and check out the action this Sunday? It should be a heel of a laugh.

The details are:
Date: Sunday August 2, 2009
Place: Sale St, 7 Sale St, Auckland City (off lower Wellesley St)
Time: 1pm start, prizegiving at 2.30pm
Bring: Cameras and notepads – it’ll be a laugh.

And if you feel inclined, you’re welcome to put together a team. For registration details email admin@sale-st.co.nz
