UCOL Wairarapa gets top marks from students
UCOL Wairarapa has scored straight A’s in most categories of the annual UCOL Student Satisfaction Survey.
The results of the survey conducted in August last year were released this week.
Students rated UCOL Wairarapa particularly highly for the quality of subject knowledge and approachability of its teaching staff. The campus teaching facilities and learning assistance were also noted as top notch.
The 507 students who responded to the online survey, represented all UCOL campuses - Palmerston North, Palmerston North Online, Whanganui UCOL, Wairarapa and Gisborne (Tairawhiti). They were questioned on a range of issues and student experiences at their campus.
The comprehensive evaluation explored opinions on teaching, course organisation, library facilities, student support services, the general campus environment, computer facilities, transport, costs and expenses and the students’ overall experience at UCOL.
Campus Manager Angela Hewitt is delighted with the A grade score the Masterton campus received. “From our staff’s point of view, these results are what it’s all about,” says Angela. “It is proof we are focusing on our students’ needs and ensuring their learning experiences and outcomes are positive”.
She says in the very few instances where services were rated just below an A, improvements have already been introduced.
