Local Rotorua organisations invited to help plan Family Fun Day
ROTORUA 15.10.09: Rotorua District Council (RDC) is encouraging local organisations interested in supporting next year’s Children’s and Family Fun Day at The Redwoods to attend a planning meeting on Monday [19 October].
The council-coordinated fun day celebrates national Children’s Day, and aims to get parents and caregivers involved in activities with their children.
RDC community arts officer, Kiri Jarden, says planning needs to begin now to repeat the success of last year’s event.
“Hundreds of people attended last year’s fun day, and it would be fantastic to be able to provide another great entertaining line-up.
“We are keen to have groups provide activities, or support the free activities on offer, including painting, story telling, music, biking, trolley races, demonstrations, and orienteering for people of all ages.”
The first planning meeting is at the Redwoods Visitor Centre on Monday 19 October at 5pm.
