Eden Park Searches For New Ceo
The Chairman of the Eden Park Trust Board, John Waller, today announced that the Board is about to undertake a search for a new Chief Executive Officer.
“ Eden Park holds a special place in the hearts of most New Zealanders,” Mr Waller said.
”The Park’s 100 year history has produced some of New Zealand's proudest sporting and cultural moments. We are well under way with the planned $250 million redevelopment to increase capacity to 60,000 seats. With a new governance structure now in place, and the current CEO due to complete his contract early in the new year, it is time for the Park to address the challenges involved in completing the redevelopment and preparing to host the Rugby World Cup in 2011,” Mr Waller said.
The new structure sees the amalgamation of the Eden Park Trust Board and Eden Park Redevelopment Board, with a new CEO to take responsibility for this truly ‘iconic’ New Zealand asset.
Mr Waller said the Park was hugely appreciative of the work done to date by the CEOs of both the Eden Park Trust Board and the Eden Park Redevelopment Board and their respective management teams to get the Park so far advanced in the redevelopment process.
“We are well on track to achieve our opening date of October next year and are looking forward to having a new CEO who will lead Eden Park into an exciting new era with a redeveloped facility that will make the people of Auckland very proud. The search process we are announcing today is aimed at providing Eden Park with world-class leadership for what will be a world-class stadium,” Mr Waller said.
Mr Waller said the Park would be advertising the new CEO role extensively, commencing this weekend, and would be conducting an international search through search firm Seqel Partners.
