Poison Free New Zealand’s

Nationwide Protest Day

Sunday 15 November – 2 pm

The group Poison Free New Zealand are organizing nationwide rallies to protest the continuous, indiscriminate aerial dropping of the poisons 1080 and Brodifacoum on our so-called 100% Pure Clean Green Country.

The aerial dropping of poisons has undesirable side effects for our environment, health and native wildlife. There are better, safer, cheaper and more humane methods of protecting our environment.

The group’s aim is to have all aerial dropping of poisons abolished immediately and replaced with sustainable alternative pest eradication and trapping programs.

Poison Free New Zealand have just released their music single “Enuf is Enuf” which was produced in collaboration with New Zealand musicians. The single is available for free download from Poison Free New Zealand’s web-site until the 15 November. Their web-site www.enufisenuf.co.nz also provides access to ample information and is a networking hub enabling visitors to comment and get involved.

Music and Lyrics

Paul Cohen. The initial words were written in poem form by Paul Cohen, the founder of Poison Free New Zealand, as a way of expressing his concern to the appalling practise of aerial poisoning.

Katy Soljak of “Gala Records”, Waiheke, artistically transformed the poem to create the template for the lyrics and named the song “Enuf is Enuf” with txt language spelling.

Caitlin Smith brought some of her magic to the track by tweaking the lyrics and pouring her amazing voice all over the track as well as punching up the first two verses.

Billy TK Snr. is the legendary master behind the music. He created the reggae bass and plays delicious guitar throughout the track.

Nic Stevens from Cornerstone Roots and Native Sons, laid down the keyboards, added the drums and also the timbale tracks. Nic's dad Jonnie Stevens came by to visit the studio and was roped into some smoky harmonies on the chorus.

Mel Davis (Aotearoa Sister from Waiheke), came in on a rainy Sunday and added her gorgeous tone.

Sarah Maoate (Waiheke) created the poignant pulsing freestyle rap.

The Chorus are members of “V12” – Richard, Mark, Phil, Paul and Keith, ”The Campfire Girls”- Del, Simone and Glenda and Gabriel Langdon from Raglan. They came in on their own steam and added strength, harmony and energy to the chorus 'Enuf is Enuf.'

Briin Gould managed all the trials and dramas like a zen captain at the helm of a tall ship at sea. He did an absolutely fantastic job mixing. And finally Anthony Milas and Murray Fisher performed magic with the final mix.
