200 Children Invited to Enjoy a Festive Feast with Santa

Christmas will be coming early this year for 200 children at Botany Town Centre, where a special breakfast feast will be hosted with none other than the jolly man himself, Santa Claus. With reindeer and sleigh in tow, Santa will descend on the centre to bring a pre-Christmas treat to all, with proceeds from the event going to a special cause.

The breakfast takes place on Saturday 21 November from 8.00am, when Botany Town Centre’s Berkeley Cinema will come alive to raise money for the Lions Club of Howick. The cost is $5 for entry and proceeds will go towards supporting the work done in the local community by the Lions Club of Howick.

The club makes a special effort to maintain the culture of fun, fellowship and community service enjoyed by its members through its involvement with a wide range of community activities. These include the Youth Exchange the Lions "Skills for Adolescents" program, tree planting, many individual projects assisting senior citizens, and staging what is arguably the country's most spectacular annual fireworks display.

Children will not only share a delicious breakfast with Santa but will also be treated to a full programme of other exciting Christmas-themed activities organised by the centre, including meeting the Christmas Fairy, face painting, listening to Christmas stories and enjoying the festive entertainment on offer.

Botany Town Centre Senior Centre Manager Jennifer Manning says, “We are delighted to be hosting Santa’s visit to the centre – it’s sure to be a terrific event that will get the young ones excited about the festive season. This is a great opportunity to show the younger generation how the spirit of giving and goodwill – the true meaning of Christmas – can be directed towards such a worthwhile cause in the community.”

Once kids have enjoyed their Christmas feast and festive entertainment, they will be further enthralled with the screening of a special Christmas movie. Each child will also take home a bag full of goodies from What’s in the Box.

Tickets are limited and are available at the Visitors Centre (opposite Farmers). For more information on Santa’s breakfast at Botany Town Centre, visit www.botanytowncentre.co.nz.
