NZ Artists band together to help out the kids

PRESS RELEASE: NZ Artists band together to help out the kids
For Immediate Release

Over 35 of New Zealand's finest established and emerging contemporary artists, including the likes of Dick Frizzell, Gregor Kregar, Seraphine Pick and Matt Dowman, have generously come together to support Variety, the Children's Charity, with The Variety Charity Art Extravaganza – It’s not all about raising money it’s about creating an experience and memories that people will cherish forever.

The auctions organizer, Aaron McConchie commented on the generosity of the artists, “The response has been overwhelming, I can’t believe how supportive so many people have been in raising money for Kiwi kids in need. All the artists have donated their works to the show so everything is going under the hammer with no reserve!”

The auction includes painting, printmaking, drawing, photography and sculpture and by mixing emerging artists with more established artist there is a great mix of artwork to suit everyone’s taste and budget.

Commenting on the calibre of the artwork Mr McConchie said, “All the work is to a very high standard, just the exhibition of the work together is worth coming to with some very interesting relationships developing between the individual pieces”.

There will also be a sculptural display of conceptual eating experience including razor blades, ironing boards and electric motors but to get the full effect you have to be at the event on the night.

100% of proceeds from this auction are going directly to Variety. The crew from Variety will even be there on the night to collect and process payments for those generous bidders who wish to take the artwork with them.
