New Tertiary Facility Seals The Deal
New Tertiary Facility Seals The Deal
13 January 2010
Thursday 11 February is set to mark a significant milestone in tertiary education history in Tauranga.
Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and the University of Waikato are delighted to announce the opening of their new partnership building at the Polytechnic’s Windermere Campus. Providing a tangible manifestation of the partnership, the new building will be formally opened by the Māori King, Tuheitia Paki.
The name of the building has not yet been released but is understood to be based on an inspirational leader in education, someone who played a significant role in the last millennium and whose fundamental philosophies on learning and education remain very much alive today.
The
partnership between the two organisations provides
significant benefit to the social, economic and
environmental growth of Tauranga and surrounding areas by
offering a full range of tertiary education options, from
national certificates to degree and post-graduate degrees.
The new building marks an innovative and exciting
milestone for the region and concludes the first step in
rationalising tertiary education in Tauranga. Further
information to follow.
