Opportunity To Meet Fans

ROTORUA 10.02.10: Rugby league fans will have plenty of opportunities to meet their heroes in the build up to Saturday’s [13 February] clash between the Vodafone Warriors and Sydney Roosters in Rotorua.

Both teams will conduct training sessions open to the public, contribute players to work in the community as part of NRL ‘One Community’ programmes, and assist in junior registration for Bay of Plenty Rugby League. The Warriors will also appear at sponsors’ outlets.

Details are:

Team Training
Both teams train at Rotorua International Stadium on Friday afternoon, with the public welcome to attend. The Sydney Roosters will be train at 3.30pm, followed by the Warriors at 5pm

Player Appearances
On Friday [12 February] members of the Warriors first grade squad will be appearing at the following locations:
1.15 pm to 1.45 pm at Rebel Sport in Central Mall
2.45 pm to 3.45 pm at Grand Johnstone Suzuki on Fairy Springs Rd
4.00 pm to 5.00pm at First Mobile in Central Mall
6.30 pm to 7.30 pm at the Colonial Tavern in the Te Ngae Shopping Centre

One Community programme
The One Community initiative aims to utilise the strong profile of top rugby league players to work within all levels of the game to make a positive difference in people’s lives. One Community focuses on three areas in the community;

• Schools and education
• Grassroots rugby league
• Charity partners
As part of these initiatives, Warriors and Rooster players will visit Aorangi Primary and Rotorua Intermediate School on Friday

Injured test stars Jared Waerea-Hargreaves (Kiwis) and Jason Ryles (Kangaroos) will be participating Roosters players in the One Community activity.

BOPRL Junior Muster
On Saturday [13 February] Warriors and Roosters stars will attend the Bay Of Plenty Rugby League junior muster at Puketawhero Park on Vaughan Rd between 9.45am and 12pm. Players are invited to join them for some coaching drills and to register to play rugby league this season

Ticketing information
Events and Venues Rotorua says that in addition to saving money by purchasing tickets prior to game day, people will also get into the stadium quicker by avoiding paying queues.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 5pm. The curtain raiser at 3pm features the Vodafone Warriors Toyota Cup side against a regional selection. Gates open at 2 pm

Fans can pre-purchase tickets from TICKETMASTER outlets at the Rotorua Convention Centre or from Rotorua’s Mad Butcher stores. In addition they can be ordered by phone on 0800 111 999 or on line at www.ticketmaster.co.nz
