Nominations for Civic Honours Awards Now
Open
Do you know someone
who deserves recognition for their voluntary work in the
community? Then nominate them for a Civic Honours
Award.
The Civic Honours Awards are presented each year by Hutt City Council to honour local volunteers who have made a long-term contribution to the wellbeing of the community.
Mayor David Ogden says the awards are an opportunity to recognise and thank the city’s volunteers and celebrate their good works.
“Volunteers make our city a better and more caring place and without them many of the things that happen in our community that we take for granted would not happen”.
Nominations can be made in the following categories: community services, cultural affairs, educational services, recreation, social welfare, and youth activities.
Nominations are also being sought for the Youth Services Award. The award recognises young people between the ages of 15 and 25 who have carried out outstanding voluntary community service.
Nomination forms are available from Hutt City Council’s main reception, libraries, by calling the council’s customer call centre on 04 570 6666, or going online at www.huttcity.govt.nz.
Nominations must be received by 5pm on Monday 31 May 2010.
The Civic Honours Award winners will be announced at the Hutt City Community Awards on 7 September.
