Auckland City Council
Media release

Topp kiwi talent at ZooMusic

Here’s your chance to see New Zealand family favourites The Topp Twins perform at Wild Bean Cafe ZooMusic on Sunday, 28 February from 6pm.

This will be an unmissable show, with the award-winning musical and comedy duo riding high on the success of their film Untouchable Girls – the number one documentary film ever released in New Zealand – and their new album,Honky Tonk Angel.

Joining them will be the collective talents of The Sami Sisters, and the unique indie sound of Family Cactus.

Auckland Zoo’s conservation officer Peter Fraser says that concert-goers can enjoy some top New Zealand entertainment while helping some of New Zealand’s most iconic animals.

“We’re delighted to be using some of the funds raised from this Wild Bean Cafe ZooMusic concert to support the great work that the Motuora Restoration Society does for this important Hauraki Gulf Marine Park sanctuary island.

“The society continues to do an amazing job re-establishing a thriving forest ecosystem on the island and ensuring it remains pest-free. This work creates a healthy and safe haven for kiwi and many other threatened native species,” says Mr Fraser.

Jools Topp is encouraging Aucklanders to come along and support our own native animals.

“There will be plenty of kiwi chicks at the concert – for a start Camp Mother and Camp Leader will be there – and we are so pleased to be supporting our real kiwi chicks on Motuora Island,” she says.
