Get ready for an action-packed winter in the Hutt

Fire up your winter with the Hutt Scene and check out the events, activities and experiences that make the Hutt Valley a great place to be when the temperature drops.

There’s no need for boredom to set in with so much to see and do and the Hutt Scene has something for everyone.

Mayor David Ogden says the Hutt Scene line-up is impressive.

“All the favourites have been included. The Petone Winter Carnival which always draws crowds with its festival atmosphere and big bang fireworks is there, as well as the Kids Fest programme that attracted many children last year during the school holidays.

“What’s important is there are also plenty of activities which families can try at home for little or not cost, things like encouraging children to be creative with chalk drawing on the driveway, or dressing up and putting on a play in the living room.

“If you want to fill in an hour, or plan a whole action-packed day of activities the Hutt Scene has it covered, and there’s no need to leave the Hutt to have a great time!”he says.

To check out the Hutt Scene visit www.thehuttscene.co.nz. New events and activities are being added all the time and an easy way to keep up with the latest is to sign up to the fortnightly Hutt Scene e-newsletter.

If you’d like to recommend your own Hutt Scene, a truly Hutt experience you enjoy with family or friends, email the details to info@thehuttscene.co.nz and we’ll look to include it in the programme.

The Hutt Scene is a Hutt City Council initiative sponsored by the Hutt News.
