Manukau Water Sets Prices for 2010/11

City (14 June, 2010) – Manukau Water Limited has announced
its pricing schedule for the financial year beginning July
1, 2010.
Manukau Water Limited is pleased to advise that there will be a nil price increase for water and residential wastewater services for the 2010/11 year.
The company’s current water price of $1.28 cents per cubic metre (1,000 litres) will be retained.
The non-residential fixed annual wastewater charges are being reduced in accordance with the phased removal of the subsidies to residential customers.
The following table outlines the main changes to Manukau Water Limited’s pricing schedule for the financial year beginning July 1, 2010:

Non-residential customers will, in addition to the fixed
annual wastewater charge, pay a volumetric fee. Non
residential community will pay a volumetric charge of $2.38
/ m3 and non residential commercial and others will pay a
volumetric fee of $2.68 /m3. Customers, who pay Watercare
Services Limited the full trade waste charges, will pay
$1.26/m3 (GST incl) from 1 July 2010.
The water and wastewater charges have been set by Manukau Water Limited, following the request by its shareholder, Manukau City Council, via its statement of intent, that water and residential wastewater prices are retained at current financial year levels.
The 2010/11 charges that are subject to Goods and Services Tax (GST) will increase on 1 October 2010 when GST is increased by the government.
