Queens Wharf

The Mayor of Auckland City, Hon. John Banks, has welcomed the Government’s announcement on Queens Wharf.

“The decision is sensible and one that future proofs Shed 10 while ensuring that suitable facilities will be in place for the Rugby Word Cup. I will work with the Government to make this decision a success so that we can deliver an outstanding Rugby World Cup experience”, said Mayor Banks.

“The proposal today means that we can stand back and take a long-term view of the whole waterfront, including Queens Wharf”.

“The new Waterfront Development Agency will deliver an integrated Plan for the whole of the waterfront from Westhaven to Bledisloe”, concluded Mayor Banks.
