Funding fair for Northland’s community groups

Community groups seeking support in the coming months will have a range of organisations to approach at the Whangarei Funding Fair hosted by ASB Community Trust on September 4, at Kensington Park’s ASB Leisure Centre.

The event runs from 12-2pm at the in the ASB Lounge, on Western Hills Drive, followed by ASB Community Trust’s annual public meeting from 2-3pm.

A number of funders and support organisations will bring information on grants and other resources to the fair. They include: Whangarei District Council; Department of Internal Affairs; ASB Community Trust; the Lion Foundation; the Charities Commission; FundView and BreakOut.

At the ASB Community Trust annual public meeting that follows, Trust Chair Ann Hartley will outline results from the last financial year and present the grants budget for 2010. CEO Jennifer Gill will explain how the Trust operates and the goals it is working to achieve for the communities it serves.

At the end of the meeting, community group representatives will be able to talk with ASB Community Trust Trustees and staff about their projects and funding needs.
