4000 young people answer the call

Hutt City Council news release

4000 young people answer the call to tell us “how it is”

Hutt City and Upper Hutt City councils have got a big job ahead of them as they set out to collate the more than 4000 responses to the Hutt Valley youth survey of 12-24 year olds received over the past month.

Leanne Campbell, community development manager at Hutt City Council, wants to extend a huge thank you to all the young people who have given their feedback.

“We’ve had amazing responses from schools, youth centres and local businesses and it’s been wonderful to see whole schools take part.”

“It’s the first time we’ve conducted such a broad survey of young people and we’re excited to see so many put their views forward.”

“Around 3000 responses from here in Hutt City will certainly give us a fresh perspective and we’ll use this to inform our priorities and future initiatives.”

Survey results are expected to be released by the end of October.

Support from local groups has also meant a range of great prizes to thank respondents and winners will be drawn in October.
