Family Cooking With Variety For A Good Cause
Variety – The Children’s Charity has launched ‘Family Food with Variety’, a cookbook full of recipes that will appeal to the whole family using everyday ingredients readily available in the pantry.
Proceeds from the cookbook will help Variety help sick, disabled and disadvantaged Kiwi kids to reach their full potential.
“Recipes were submitted by families around the country through a competition run in the New Zealand Woman’s Weekly magazine and have been tested by student chefs at the Auckland University of Technology. Some of our favourite celebrities such as Hilary Timmins, Jayne Kiely, Paul Holmes, Ewen ‘Westie’ Gilmour, Sam Neill, and Constable Bryan and Bobby have also contributed their much-loved family recipes,” said Lorraine Taylor, CEO of Variety – The Children’s Charity.
“It also includes divine recipes from high-profile New Zealand chefs Mike Van Delsen, Christiano De Martin and Owen Sinclair,” said Ms Taylor.
“Whether it’s the All Black Stew or the Chocolate Chippy Biscuits, the recipes are easy to follow and can be cooked by almost any member of the family – it is jam-packed full of simple yet delicious recipes that are Kiwi classics,” she continued.
“At only $19.90, it is excellent value and would make a fantastic, unique present for people of all ages – after all, it’s never too early to start your Christmas shopping!
“Variety is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary in New Zealand and we are fortunate to have been ‘gifted’ this cookbook through the generosity of Trillian Trust, the Woman’s Weekly, and the publishing and design team headed by Tania Walters,” said Ms Taylor.
