What’s new at the
Show
There’s plenty of new entertainment on offer at this year’s Canterbury A&P Show in Christchurch.
Shane Cortese and The Tornadoes
The More FM Main Stage
on the Village Green is entertainment central during the
Show. Special guest’s Shane Cortese and The Tornadoes will
be rocking it out on stage with performances on Thursday and
Friday. This will be the first time that fans will see Shane
(Outrageous Fortune, Dancing with the Stars) performing with
the legendary Tornadoes. The Tornadoes sound is a unique
blend of rock and roll plus boot scootin’ rock and
country.
Rock Solid FMX
Children of all ages will enjoy
the action of aerial motocross with Rock Solid FMX in the
StableMateTM Arena. The Rock Solid FMX team includes riders
James Carr, Ben O’Callaghan, Stacy Rush (former Crusty
Demon), Darrell Jones and Mark Cresswel.
Comedians Dai
Henwood and Paul Ego
The Tui BaaBaa Bar will be more ha
ha ha at this year’s Canterbury A&P Show, with iconic Kiwi
comedians Dai Henwood and Paul Ego dominating the stage on
Friday 12 November. The two funny men, made household names
by hit TV3 show 7 Days, will be ensuring no stomach muscle
is left unstrained during their three afternoon
shows.
Duck Herding Demonstrations
Duck Herding
Demonstrations with Don Stuart will be held daily in the
Eukanuba Dog Trial Arena. Duck herding uses a similar
concept to Dog Trialing with specially trained Herding Dogs
manoeuvring Peking Ducks around an obstacle course.
Lifestyle & Leisure Pavilion
The new Lifestyle &
Leisure Pavilion located opposite the Village Green has
close to 30 exhibitors, offering ideas and inspiration for
easy living. With exhibitors ranging from leading tiling
company The Ambience Group, through to active, outdoor
clothing at Baby Star and back supports for work or leisure
at The Better Back Co stand, there’s plenty to see and do.
Insurance specialists, the Delray Group, will have an Ariel
Atom on display with a prize draw to win a dream ride. The
Atom is a high performance speed car that can reach speeds
of 97 km/h in 3 seconds.
BeThere Bicycle Band
In 1895
Joshua Painter and his brother Fred started the Christchurch
Bicycle Band. The BeThere Bicycle Band will be performing at
the Canterbury A&P Show on Thursday. It’s where penny
farthing meets brass band!
The Canterbury A&P Show runs from 10-12 November at Canterbury Agricultural Park Christchurch. Attracting on average 110,000 people, over 7000 livestock and feature competition entries and 600 trade exhibitors, plus three full days of entertainment, it is the largest Agricultural and Pastoral Show in the country.
