RnB group New Edition coming to Rotorua

RnB group New Edition coming to Rotorua

Members of popular 80s and 90s group New Edition will be making their way to Rotorua next month on the group’s 2010 Heads of State tour.

Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvant, all original members of the legendary RnB group, will be performing at the Sportsdrome on Thursday 16 December.

The only other New Zealand locations on their Heads of State tour are Wellington and Auckland .

Events & Venues general manager Peter McLeod says the trio will be performing all of their New Edition classics, their solo hits and signature dance moves at the Sportsdrome next month.

“New Edition was one of the most successful RnB groups of its era, leading the boy band movement of the 1980s and 1990s. They each went on to enjoy outstanding success as individual artists, so their massive collection of hits is sure to please the masses.”

Those hits include New Edition classics like Mr Telephone Man, Cool It Now, to the modern days of I’m Still In Love With You, and Hit Me Off; Bobby Brown's Every Little Step, My Prerogative, and Roni; Johnny Gill's My My My, Fairweather Friend, and Cute Sweet Love Addiction; and Ralph Tresvant's Stone Cold Gentleman, Sensitivity and What I Gotta Do?.

Mr McLeod says he was thrilled that once again Rotorua had been chosen to present a top international act.

“Our city is continuously proving its worth as one of the country’s leading centres for entertainment and sports events.”

Tickets for New Edition’s Heads of State concert go on sale at Ticketmaster from Friday 12 November
