Motorcyclist seriously injured in Paraparaumu
The Wellington-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter transported a seriously injured motorcyclist from Paraparaumu this afternoon.
The helicopter, with a Wellington Free Ambulance paramedic onboard, was called to the accident on McGrath Road just after 2pm.
On our arrival a WFA road crew and a doctor from the Kapiti EMS team were treating a 31 year old Stokes Valley man who was seriously injured when he fell off his motorcycle at high speed. The man had not been wearing a helmet and was suffering from face and head injuries.
The man was flown to the Wellington Hospital Emergency Department where he is being treated. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Also this afternoon the
Life Flight fixed wing Air Ambulance has been called to
Gisborne to transport a Wellington man who suffered burns
from a camp stove. The man was initially taken to Gisborne
Hospital and the Life Flight team, including a Wellington
Hospital ICU Doctor and Nurse is transporting him to Hutt
Hospital for burns treatment. No other information is
available regarding this incident.
