First Twenty 20 International a Toss of the Coin

Despite England’s domination of the Ashes series, punters with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au believe Australia have a chance to restore some much needed pride via the game’s shortest version.

Both Australia and England are paying $1.90 to win the opening Twenty 20 International, with the 10 biggest bets placed so far with sportsbet.com.au being on the Australians, including one of $5000 at $1.95.

“There’s been more money for Australia, but weighing up the teams the result really seems to be a toss of the coin,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Haydn Lane.

“In fact, punters betting on the toss of the coin are getting slightly better odds, so perhaps that could be the way to go!”

In the battle of the Aussie quicks, Shaun Tait is a $1.08 favourite to bowl a faster delivery than Brett Lee’s fastest ball ($7.50) during the match.

David Warner is a $4 favourite to score the most runs for Australia, while the in form Ian Bell is on the third line of betting at $6 to score the most runs for England.
