Racing to donate items to QLD flood victims of the equine kind. Help us get more items donated and sent to QLD.

Alexandra Park employee recognises a need to help the equine flood victims and horse owners / breeders / trainers in QLD and has coordinated delivery of items to Toowoomba Show Grounds to the Queensland Horse Council to distribute to those in need.

We are helping those affected by the floods through the donation of all horse gear, medical supplies and even clothing for people from giving kiwis all over NZ.

Coordinated last week Saddlery warehouse have accepted the challenge to be donation collection points nationwide along with some race tracks like Addington, so that people willing to donate can deliver items, or even purchase items to go into the container. Then Pace couriers are being amazing and picking up the items from the collection points free of charge and taking them to IRT in Karaka Auckland. They are then through the fantastic work of Ross Johnson IRT organizing Qantas Freight to deliver the items to the Queensland Horse Council in Toowoomba FREE OF CHARGE where the items will be distributed to those in need.

We need more items donated anything from Halters, lead ropes, feed bins, medical supplies like gamgee and vetwarp through to riding / mustering clothing and covers. Everything does need to be washed as best you can, and unfortunately we cannot get feed or supplements across the ditch easily so we are just taking the items that will make it through as quickly as possible.

Kiwis have been so giving so far and the uptake is phenomenal how people have really got on board with this and even felt a real connection with it and our Aussie neighbors.

• Donations close on the 27th January to be picked up on the evening of the 28th and delivered to IRT.
