New Zealanders in Egypt who are concerned about the security situation should leave if it safe to do so.

New Zealanders currently in Egypt are advised to stay indoors throughout the day and night unless they have confirmed departure arrangements in place and it is safe for them to travel to the airport.

Curfews should be observed.

Commercial flights are available though there are delays at the airport and you will need to check in for flights five hours before departure. It is also advisable to take some food and water with you to the airport as shortages are an issue.

New Zealanders wanting to depart should register with the New Zealand Embassy in Cairo so consular staff can facilitate departure if required. Embassy consular staff are at the airport to assist New Zealanders.
